🏕️ No Tent, No Problem: My First Glamping Trip in the UK

I never considered myself a “camping person.”

Cold tents, damp sleeping bags, mystery bugs? Hard pass.

But last weekend, I gave glamping a shot—and it completely changed my mind.


What Glamping Really Means

Glamping, short for “glamorous camping,” is exactly what it sounds like.

I stayed in a cozy wooden cabin near Hereford—clean bed, outdoor bath, fireplace, and not a single pole to pitch.

I didn’t need to bring much, and I didn’t need to set anything up. Just show up, unzip the bag, and exhale.


Getting There Without a Car

I took a direct train from London Paddington to Hereford and then a quick taxi to the cabin.

Public transport worked perfectly, and I even used my Railcard for 20% off.

This kind of trip doesn’t require a car, a van, or even hiking boots—just decent planning and the right bag.

If you’re near Glasgow and craving a quick escape, this one’s for you.  The trail from Balloch to Helensburgh is around 12km, mostly easy walking—but the scenery feels much bigger than that. The Hike That Changed My Mind About Tenerife (And Myself)

I used to think Tenerife was all about beaches and seafood. But then I found myself hiking across volcanic rock under a sky full of stars, gasping for breath and awe at the same time. I wasn’t here for a challenge—but I got one. And it stayed with me longer than any sunset. The Trail: Roques de García It starts from Mirador de la Ruleta, a viewpoint facing the towering Las Cañadas crater.
